Default Event idea: Ultimate Treasure hunt

I never really suggest much as far as ideas like this but it just hit me so i figured i'de share it for what it's worth. Hope ya like it.

Idea basis: LVL 30 monster is taking over (insert area/town/world).

Goal: You have been given the quest to search out the map/maps for clues and items leading you to your most sought after dream item! You will (have) to use it during the fight on the last day of the event to take over the monster said above.

Cool feature: (class specific) choose from a drop down list of weapon/item types [such as skins and different stat options]

Cheezy part: The whole idea is to get an item that you could not buy/trade/get without this event, but make it blue, red, or green and auto customised so as to not be exploited in the market.

End goal: everyone gets a chance to get that 1 (not more than per character) item that they have dreamed about but couldn't get otherwise and be able to join ppl with similar quests to get to the ultimate prize.

Any thoughts?

That's more of a scavenger hunt than a treasure hunt. So have a collector who takes like seven different things insted of a couple of the same thing and you pick what you get?

Yeah kinda. Like a Genie...think of an item you really want. Go to the list of options, submit the skin, mods, req, and he'll give you the quest to start searching for items to bring back for the next quest until the final day event where you kill the boss and collect your reward item.

A kind of Super Collector? You choose exactly what you'd like, and he says "Certainly, that'll be 50 stone summit badges, 12 charr hides, 2 candy canes, 7 behemoth jaws, 14 steel ingots, 9 mursaat tokens, 12 ghostly remains, and 1 bleached shell, please"?

Actually when you put it like that, I think it would be more fun if it was more like.. "You are asking alot, but if you bring me (all 4 collectors items from collector jones) I will consider helping you further. (and send you to kill a boss and get a drop item, open a chest in a certain area and bring back item, Find an NPC way out in a far off area and protect him from a swarm attacking him, the list goes on until you have collected enough points for him to say on the last day of event. "You are ready. I have 1 final task for you. bla bla bla. kill the last guy and he will drop the item of your dreams for each pty member"

Does it at least sound like it would be fun to anyone else?

I think the idea is great. I think it would be good for those who don't have the money to buy a req 7. with perfect mods. Those who would still like to sell and buy high end things still would and those who don't still wouldn't. Just my opinion.

Unfortunately, I couldn't see any of this happening.

The Sword Of A Thousand Truths is way to strong.
120dmg persecond!? We cannot let the sword fall into the wrong hands.

But I love the idea.
